Wow... bad day.
So today I'm told that I'm to drop what I'm working on and help someone else who should have been able to do what I'm helping with (ie. basic debugging). That put me in a bad mood. Then on the way home I start to get a headache, nothing big, just something annoying.
Britgal had to go to a soccer party, so I was home alone. I thought to myself, 'self, let's make ribs'. So I cut up some racks of ribs and braised them in my cast iron pot for about 1.5 hours. Then glazed them with some bbq sauce and proceeded outside to BBQ them. After about 10 minutes on the BBQ, I hear a woosh sound and out goes the BBQ flame - I'm out of fuel and the car is gone. Grrrrr.... So I collect up my ribs off the BBQ, back onto the plate and proceed inside. Only, I can't get inside as the door knob on my front door has decided to jam up (happens rarely, but hey, it's Murphy law at work). Now I'm locked out of my house, half cooked food and no way to get a hold of Britgal.
I think to myself, "Self, could you get any more screwed than right now?". And literally just then, I got a sign. Yes - rain. It started to freaking rain. All I could think of was "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!?!?". So now I'm hungry, homeless and wet. I put the food on the BBQ again, and start walking to my Landlords house to get a spare key to unjam the door knob. Once there - the lights are dark and no one answers the door - they are gone for the evening.
Just then I remember - there are spare keys hidden (I won't say where). I run and fetch them, and let myself in. My ribs are ruined (quickly cooled meat tastes like ass), I'm cold and wet but there is not better feeling than home.
The end.

suggestion about the bbq, I've learned to always keep a spare tank on hand.
