The beginning of the End.

Well, the end has come today. Today marks the end of sandal season, and the start of socks and boots. It has been a quiet custom that I wear sandals until the first snow fall (and I always hope that the first snow fall isn't a massive blizzard). So as the first snow flake hit the ground, the end of sandal season came to a close.

I'll be leaving this weekend to goto Germany for a week stint for work. I'm hoping the snow holds off long enough so that I can fly safely and without much delay (and return). While I'm in the fatherland, I'll be picking up some more frikadelle seasoning mix (and perhaps gyros mix too). Outside of that, I'm sure I'll be working long hours, so I may just take a few days off in lieu - after all I'm loosing this weekend, and the next one (fly out Sat/Sun, fly back on a monday).

As long as I don't meet up with my Korean buddy, I think I should be safe. I will be looking for a t-mobile or Vodaphone shop once I arrive as, yet again, the GSM loaner phone situation is abysmal. I don't understand - we ship people over regularly yet we only have 2 German phones. Whatever.

I notice I haven't really updated lately, and truth be told, I haven't much interesting news. I still read everyone else blog regularly and enjoy the quasi behind the scenes view of other peoples lives. One new thing i did was make chocolate biscotti, which turned out ok. Serdic and Nail seemed to enjoy it, at least I didn't see them spit it out ;) .

Currently I'm preparing for my trip. The essentials, such as iPod with a monstrous store of music and I've been thinking about installing a computer game or so for the long nights of jet lag but I'm not sure. I will be taking my PSP so perhaps I should pickup a strategy game. I've found my voltage/plug adapter, so I only have to decide how I want to organise my carry on strategy. Laptop bag, or laptop backpack? Do I take my attache case? I doubt I should - air port security might think I have a bomb.

At least I don't have to enter the US - security is just silly there.
