He's dead Jim.
I attempted to revive my ibook last night. I removed the wireless card, and the RAM DIMM just to ensure that neither loose connection, nor bad parts are to blame. The ibook came to life (sorta), but then eventually crashed again, and as I left it on it got worse. I have a feeling that it's heat related (if it was HD related, I'd assume I'd have problems no matter what and that I could boot off my recovery CDROM, which I cannot). That means it's a mainboard problem, and I'm not sure I can stomach repairing it (since it's old, the screen already has a big scratch in it and I've replaced the keyboard already, and the battery is of course loosing it's ability to hold charges).
*sigh*, I've moved my itunes music to the PC, re-formatted my ipod for Windows and I'm living in a trailer park of a PC for the time being. Thank god I had the foresight to put all my music on an external drive for exactly this reason :) Now the rest of my data, I'm fairly sure once I've decided on what I'm going to do, extracting the HD won't be an issue.
Damn it Jim, I'm a Mac guy, not a PeeCee user!

Maybe its a good time to mention I get a discount on Mac stuff. :) I just know your aching for an excuse.
I'm sure we'll talk :)
Man, that sucks. :(
Remember every action has an equal an opposite reaction -- and the good thing about a dead computer is a NEW computer. ;)
