From Wikipedia:

On December 20, 2006, Disc 1 of a so-called "prototype" edition of the DVD set appeared
on the BitTorrent site The Pirate Bay, including the aforementioned bonus content and a
still image gallery. The torrent also contains the artwork from the promotional poster that
was rendered for the DVD, containing more detail than the original VHS cover. On December
23, 2006, Disc 2 appeared, including behind-the-scenes footage of the "Closer" video with
commentary by Mark Romanek. Both of these discs were submitted to The Pirate Bay (along
with The Broken Movie DVD "leak") by a user known only as seed0.

Fans speculate that Reznor may have been the source of this leak, based on a post on his official blog: "12/21/06 : Happy Holidays! This one is a guilt-free download. (shhhh - I didn't say that out loud). If you know what I'm talking about, cool."

So I got these Closure DVD images and the Broken movie. The Closure DVD is nice but the quality of the video is not all that and a bag of chips. It's mostly because it was filmed in the late 90's in less than stellar conditions. I've already got this on VHS (official) so I know what the subject matter is mostly. The DVD comes with a few extras (making of) along with a nicer fidelity. Along with this was the Broken movie - something that as NIN fan I've known about for a while. Many bootlegs of this movie are floating around, but to have this 'semi-official' version on DVD is something of a treat for fans. I've never watched it, but I did today. It was disturbing, and to be honest I wasn't ready for this kind of disturbance - it's like a snuf film (The FBI had to investigate to ensure it wasn't) and highly violent. I almost wanted to vomit - it was that harsh. I can see why they never could get the Broken movie published - no one would touch it.

On a different note, I went to a house warming party for Darklight. It was great to meet some truly interesting people (and apparently they read blogs) and see a comfy home. Can't say the music was my favourite (the singing at least :) ), but good times, good food, good people = great party.
