Chili Nation
Youch! I made dinner this evening, and it was chili. Of course, I couldn't let it stand as 'just chili'. I had to made really good chili and of course the obligatory side - corn bread. Britgal doesn't enjoy kidney beans, so I had to find a recipe which wouldn't use our friendly bean. The answer is Texas Chili - all meat, no beans.
So off I went to farm boy to get some chilies and some tomatoes, then the Superstore to fetch some extra groceries such as cornmeal and buttermilk. It took about 2 hours to make dinner (including the 45 mins of simmer for the chili) but it was sooooo good, and quite hot! It wasn't 5 alarm hot, but at least a 3-4 alarm - enough to make you drink lots of liquid and sour cream.
Great weekend - the weather was crap, but it was fun and enjoyable.
