Status: Ottawa Airport

I'm here at the Ottawa airport waiting for my plan to the UK (where I jump over and take another flight to Stuttgart). My flight should be in about an hour, but once I arrive in the UK (around 7am local time GMT), I'll have to wait until 2pm for my next flight - Arrgggh. On the bright side, there was a monster line up to check into AirCanada, but I choose to try out the automated checkin machine. I had my doubts, but I inserted my AeroPlan card, and it found my reservation! It scanned my passport, printed my boarding pass and I was done - YES! I even got to pick my seat from a seat plan of the plan!! So there I was all happy, then suddenly I though, "What about my checked luggage?". And then I saw it, they had a sign which said 'baggage drop off' and the long line was there! Crap. I stood in line, looked about and some had already pre-printed their boarding pass, but alas there are still others which insist on checking in through this line. The upside, the check in takes like 2 mins to drop off your bag, which I'm thankful the majority of people had done. That said, it's always the largest family with the most bags and the hearing aid which insist on slowing down the line. At least it only took 15 mins - it could have been WAY worse if I had to stand in the check in line with the rest of the rank and file.

Since I did quite a lot of traveling last year, I have AeroPlan Elite status (doesn't mean much), but I did notice they stuck a bright florescent orange 'Priority' sticker on my checked luggage. I believe that means my bag comes out first! Sweet!

Hopefully in the UK, I'll have Internet access there (perhaps I'll take a nap somewhere quiet - ha!) and I'll update my flight info on the blog. No promises though.

I've brought britgal's camera with me, and if I remember to take some photos, I'll see if I can upload some of them to my blog.

See ya on the other side!
